Small batches, changing taps
Expect house-brewed IPAs, dark beer, classic styles and seasonal experiments. Small tanks let us change direction, bring favorites back and keep the taproom interesting.
Fairfax City's first brewery
Chubby Squirrel opened in 2018 and has brewed in Fairfax City ever since. We are independent, owner-operated and still close enough to the tanks to hear them working.

Over the years the Squirrel has brewed a long list of rotating beers, including Double Dead Squirrel, Hazy Squirrel, Black Squirrel Oatmeal Stout, Midwest Gold, Cryo Me a River, Strawberry Sour, Deck the Hills, Pumpkineater and many more. Some return; some were built for a moment. Check the current tap list before falling in love with an old name.
